WHAT WAS HAPPENING?

The client already had a CCTV system in place, but the existing setup was no longer providing the level of coverage they needed.

As the premises and daily operations evolved, several areas had limited visibility. The management team also wanted a more practical way to monitor the premises when they were away.

Rather than simply adding more cameras, the client wanted to understand what type of setup would actually make sense for their premises.

THE CHALLENGES THEY WERE FACING

01 — Blind Spots

Several areas around the premises were not adequately covered by the existing camera placement.

02 — Limited Visibility

The existing setup made it difficult to monitor certain areas effectively.

03 — Remote Monitoring

The client wanted a more convenient way to check the premises when they were not physically on-site.

04 — Existing Infrastructure

The new system needed to work around the existing layout and infrastructure of the premises.

WHAT DID THE CLIENT ACTUALLY NEED?

The client wasn’t simply looking to install more CCTV cameras.

They needed a system that could provide better visibility across important areas while remaining practical for their existing premises and daily operations.

Their main requirements were:

  • Improve coverage of key areas
  • Reduce blind spots
  • Provide better visibility around access points
  • Enable remote monitoring
  • Maintain a clean and practical installation
  • Ensure the system was properly configured and tested

HOW WE APPROACHED THE PROJECT

Before recommending any equipment, Neera first looked at how the premises was actually being used.

We assessed the layout, identified important access points and areas that required closer monitoring, and reviewed the limitations of the existing setup.

This allowed us to plan the camera positions based on actual visibility requirements rather than simply installing cameras wherever it was easiest.

The goal was straightforward:

Build a CCTV setup around the premises — not force the premises to fit the system.

THE SOLUTION WE RECOMMENDED

Based on the site assessment, we recommended a CCTV setup designed around the client’s key monitoring areas.

Strategic Camera Placement

Camera positions were planned to improve visibility across important areas while reducing unnecessary overlap.

Improved Area Coverage

Additional coverage was introduced where the existing setup had limitations or blind spots.

Remote Monitoring

The system was configured to allow the client to monitor the premises remotely when required.

Proper System Configuration

After installation, the system was configured and tested to ensure the cameras, recording and monitoring functions worked as intended.

IT WASN’T AS STRAIGHTFORWARD AS IT LOOKED

Every installation comes with its own site conditions.

For this project, the team had to work around the existing structure and determine practical routes for the installation while keeping disruption to the client’s operations as low as possible.

During Planning

The existing layout meant that camera placement had to be considered carefully.

During Installation

Cable routing and installation access had to be planned around the physical structure of the premises.

During Configuration

The system needed to be tested properly to ensure the cameras were providing the intended coverage and the monitoring functions were working correctly.

The solution wasn’t simply about getting the cameras installed.

It was about making sure the completed system worked properly in the environment it was installed in.

FROM PLANNING TO INSTALLATION

01 — Site Assessment

We reviewed the premises, existing CCTV setup and areas requiring improved visibility.

02 — System Planning

Camera positions and installation requirements were planned based on the actual layout and monitoring needs.

03 — Installation

The CCTV system was installed with consideration for the existing structure and daily operations of the premises.

04 — Configuration & Testing

The cameras, recording system and remote monitoring functions were configured and tested.

05 — Handover

The client was guided through the completed system and its monitoring functions.

THE RESULT

With the new setup in place, the client now has improved visibility across key areas of the premises and a more practical way to monitor the system remotely.

Improved Coverage

Important areas of the premises now have better CCTV visibility.

Reduced Blind Spots

Camera placement was planned around areas that previously had limited coverage.

Remote Monitoring

The client can monitor the CCTV system remotely when required.

More Structured Setup

The completed system provides a more organised and practical CCTV setup for the premises.

WHAT THIS PROJECT SHOWS

A good CCTV system isn’t simply about installing more cameras.

Every premises has a different layout, different operating environment and different security requirements.

For this project, understanding the client’s actual concerns first allowed us to design a setup around the areas that mattered most.

That’s why we believe CCTV installation should start with the site and the problem — not the equipment.
